Online Business Card Questions
How do I setup my online business
card?
Can I use my own images or graphics
on my online business card?
Can I use the graphics supplied for
the AZC WebCard for any purpose other than my online business
card?
I just changed the way my WebCard looks,
but when I try to look at it on the Internet it shows me the
old one. What's up?
What is AZC's WebCard?
Web card is a service offered by AZC.COM that allows you
to
- add email capabilities to your domain so that you can
send and receive email at you@yourdomain.com.
- forward your domain name to your existing web site at
free web site providers such as Geocities, Tripod,
FreeServe, AOL ...
- create an online business card that will be displayed
under your domain name. No programming skills needed.
Select a border, elect a graphic, type in your address and
phone number and presto, your online business card is ready
for the world to see.
Note that if you select the domain forwarding option, you
would not be able to display an online business card and vice
versa. A domain site can only have one start page, so, you
need to choose. If you already have web pages somewhere else,
it would not make much sense to create an online business
card as you probably already have something similar on your
existing site.

How do I log in to my WebCard
Administration Center?
This is very easy. The login page is stored on your domain.
Just go to http://www.yourdomainname.com/user-bin/login where
yourdomainname.com is whatever your domain name is. For
example, if your domain is called example0.com, then you
would log into your administration center by typing in
http://www.example0.com/user-bin/login.

What is Domain Forwarding or Url
Forwarding. Why do I need it?
Domain forwarding, or, url forwarding as it is sometimes
called, allows you to point your domain to a web space on a
different server located somewhere else. It works very
similar to the forwarding option you may have on your
telephone. Calls received at your number are being
transferred automatically to any number you specify without
the caller knowing that you are actually not picking up the
call at the phone attached to that number. Domain forwarding
does the same.
If you have free web space with AOL, Geocities, FreeServe
, your web site address is something very complicated,
like:
http://members.theirname.com/yourusername/yourwebsitename/
Compare that with a domain name
http://www.yourwebsitename.com
The last one is much easier to type and remember, isn't
it?
However, many of the free space providers do not permit
you to directly attach your easy-to-remember domain name to
your web space. But, with domain forwarding, this is now
possible. And with the WebCard service, you can even get
email under your own domain!

I registered my domain name
through an AZC service. How do I upgrade to AZC's WebCard
service?
If you have a domain registered through any of the AZC sites
and the domain is not already pointing to another domain
(i.e. has been "mapped"), then you can upgrade to the WebCard
service. To order the upgrade, go to our hosting order page
at order.html. Where it says "This
domain has never been registered before, i.e. new" to "This
domain has been reserved through AZC.COM". Then proceed with
the rest of the form. Do not forget to enter your customer ID
and PIN where requested.

I registered my domain name through
another provider. Can I order the AZC WebCard
service?
Yes, you can upgrade to the WebCard service. It will only
take a few steps. First, you will need to transfer your
domain. To do this, you will need to update your domain
record at the site where you originally registered the
domain. You will need to update the "delegation details" or
name server information for your domain by replacing it with
our name server information. Our name server information is
listed as follows:
Primary name server name:
..........phoenix.azc.com
Primary name server IP address: ....64.213.38.2
Secondary name server name: ........ns1.azc.com
Secondary name server IP address:...64.213.38.4
and optionally you can also add
Secondary name server name: ........ns2.azc.com
Secondary name server IP address:...64.213.38.5
Once that is done, you can order the upgrade by going to
our hosting order page at
order.html. Where it says "This domain has never been
registered before, i.e. new" to "This domain has been
reserved at another provider". Then proceed with the rest of
the form. Leave the area where it request your customer ID
and PIN number blank. At the end of the order, our system
will issue one. Be sure to write it down.

I have a free web site someplace
else. How will your WebCard service help me?
If you have free web space somewhere else, chances are that
its web address is something very complicated, like
http://members.theirname.com/yourusername/yourwebsitename/
This web address is difficult to remember and requires a
lot of typing. Would you rather have
http://www.yourwebsitename.com
The last one is much easier to type and remember, isn't
it? With the WebCard service, you can get an easy domain name
address and have it forward to that difficult to remember
address. So, your visitors don't need to type in that long
address.
But wait, there is more. If you want, you can also get an
email address under your own domain name. So, instead of
having an email address like
john3453@aol.com or
ellen34@earthlink.com
you can have an email address like john@yourname.com or
ellen@yourname.com.

Will I run into problems if I am an
America Online (AOL) user?
The WebCard User Interface is not fully compatible with the
AOL browser. Therefore, in order to use your new WebCard
services, you will have to connect to the Internet using AOL
and then open another browser such as Internet Explorer or
Netscape. The AOL connection itself is not the problem, only
the AOL browser. Don't worry, visitors to your site using the
AOL browser will be able to view your web site. It is
only the behind-the-scenes user interface that you must use
in order to set up the site that may not be visible via the
AOL browser.

Does the WebCard come with email? How
do I use it?
Yes, the WebCard service allows you to send and receive
email under your domain. Your WebCard includes one free email
account. Additional email accounts can be ordered for an
extra fee of $2 per month per extra account.
To set up your email account, you will need to log into
your WebCard administrative center. Just go to
http://www.yourdomainname.com/user-bin/login where
yourdomainname.com is whatever your domain name is. For
example, if your domain is called example0.com, then you
would log into your administration center by typing in
http://www.example0.com/user-bin/login.
Once you have logged in, click on the "email setup"
button. If you need extra help while setting up the email
account, click on the red "help" button in the right top
corner of the frame.

What is the difference between a
redirect, pop, and responder email account?
A redirect account is an email account that receives an
email message and then immediately forwards it to another
email account somewhere else. It operates very much like the
call forwarding feature on your phone. For example, with a
redirect account, you could have people send email to
you@yourname.com. If you@yourname.com is set up as a redirect
account, the message would then be forwarded to your email
account somewhere else, like your AOL or Hotmail email
account. That way, you can still pick up all your emails at a
central email address such as your existing AOL, Hotmail,
Yahoo, or email account provided by your ISP.
A POP account is similar to the email account you may have
with your ISP. A POP account does not forward emails, but
keeps them on the server until you download the message using
a regular email program like Netscape Messenger, Eudora,
Pegasus Mail, Outlook or Outlook Express. With a POP account,
you need to log onto the mail server to receive email
messages. So, it is like going to the post office to pick up
your mail, in fact POP stands for Post Office Protocol.
A responder account acts pretty much like an answering
machine. When someone sends an email message to a responder
account, the responder will immediately send a fixed response
to the sender of the message. For example, if you have many
people requesting you for the same information, such as a
price list, or directions, or an event schedule, you could
set up a responder account that would automatically send the
price list, directions, or event schedule.

How do I set up my email program to
pick up my POP emails?
Log into your WebCard administrative center. Then, click on
the "email setup" button. Next, click on the POP tab. All
your existing pop accounts will be listed. To learn what your
email program settings should be for a specific pop account,
click on its name. The system will now show you the major
settings for that email account and a wizard can even show
you how to enter the settings for such popular email programs
like eudora, Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger.
If you cannot find help for your specific program, then
please consult the manual for your email client software for
help and use the information that we provide in the online
help section to fill out the required fields.

Is it possible to have more than one
email account? Are there additional costs
involved?
Yes, you may create additional email accounts in the
administration area. The additional cost per email account is
$2 per month. You will be billed for the maximum number of
email accounts you create in any given month. The number
of email accounts you have in any given month is monitored by
our automated software.

will be able to submit your pictures and graphics and the
winning images will be included in the WebCard
selections.

I just changed the way my WebCard
looks, but when I try to look at it on the Internet it shows
me the old one. What's up?
The old WebCard is probably stored in your browser's cache.
Try clicking on the "refresh" (for Explorer or AOL users) or
"reload" (for Netscape users) button in your browser and you
should be shown the newest version of your WebCard.
